Are you interested in exploring an exciting and interdisciplinary field that aims to improve health at the community level? If so, the Bachelor of Arts in Public Health may be right for you!
We are still accepting applications to this new major for Fall 2012 admission and are now offering one of the required prerequisites ( PUBH 100: Health and the Public) this summer enabling students who haven't been able to complete PUBH 100, 110, and/or 120 to still be considered for the program.
If you are interested in majoring in Public Health and meet the minimum admissions criteria outlined below, please consider applying:
1. Will have earned at least 60 credit hours (junior standing) by the start of Fall 2012
2. Have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA
3. Have completed PUBH 100 with a B grade or higher or plan to enroll in the course at UIC this Summer 2012
If you are admitted to the major for Fall 2012, you will then be required to successfully complete the remaining 100-level Public Health courses (PUBH 110 and PUBH 120) concurrently with additional major course work in the fall.
To apply to the program, current UIC students must submit a Supplemental Application Packet which includes the following:
- Applicant Information Form
- Prerequisite Self-Evaluation
- Personal Statement
- One Letter of Recommendation
- Request for Prerequisite Exception (if necessary)
